The Industrial Development Board of the Parish of Ascension, Louisiana, Inc. (“IDB”) was created in 1980 and is a corporation organized and operated exclusively for the purpose of promoting, stimulating, developing and advancing the business prosperity and economic welfare of the Parish of Ascension and the State of Louisiana and their citizens, to encourage and assist in the organization of new businesses or industries in said Parish and State and to rehabilitate, assist existing businesses and industries; to stimulate, assist in the expansion of all kinds of business activities which will promote the business development in said area, thus providing maximum opportunities for employment to improve the standard of living of the citizens of this Parish and State and to cooperate and act in conjunction with other organizations, public or private, in the promotion and development of industrial, commercial, agricultural and recreational development in the Parish of Ascension and the State of Louisiana, to acquire, own, lease, rent, repair, renovate, improve, finance, sell, and dispose of properties to the end that it may be able to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, commercial, and other enterprises to locate in the Parish and further the use of its agricultural products and natural resources, to acquire, own, lease, rent, repair, renovate, improve, finance. sell. and dispose of properties for the abatement, elimination, control, and prevention of air, water, noise, or other pollution or to control or eliminate or dispose of liquid and solid wastes, and to acquire, own, lease, rent, repair, renovate, improve, finance, sell, and dispose of properties to the end that it may be able to attract and retain business and commercial enterprises in the Parish to maintain and expand employment and the economy in the area.
