The Advocate – Bengal, a Geismar-based industrial transportation company, has purchased a 6,100-square-foot office building in Prairieville that will serve as its new headquarters.

Bengal paid $2.1 million for the former InfiniEdge Software building at 14320 InfiniEdge Way in a deal that closed earlier this month. InfiniEdge recently moved to a new location in PraIrieville.

Bengal plans to rename the street that the office building is located on, said Mathew Laborde, an agent with Beau Box Commercial Real Estate who represented the buyers. Brent Garrett and Andy McCall, who are also with Beau Box, represented InfiniEdge.

The building will serve as the corporate offices for the four divisions of Bengal: crane, logistics, transportation and special projects. The company’s accounting, sales and marketing, information technology and executive offices also will be based out of the building.

Bengal was founded in 1995. The company specializes in handling specialized transportation services for the power, petrochemical, marine and civil engineering industries.
